NA 131 Lahore Constituency: Imran Khan Vs Khwaja Saad Rafique

NA 131 Previously it was NA 125 and in last elections, PTI Hamid Khan contested election against Khwaja Saad Rafique of PML-N who remain Federal minister of Railways from 2013-2018. Right after the General Election of 2013 the trend of Lock down and Dharna has been started from this constituency. A famous spot of this area Lalak Jan chokh where PTI Ex Punjab president and provincial candidate from that area Ahsan Rasheed. In 2018 PTI Chairman Imran Khan is contesting from this seat and this constituency is NA 131 after the census. This time Abdul Aleem Khan and Imtiaz Warriach is contesting election from Provincial seats under NA 131.
In the Last election when it was NA 125 PTI was so confident but when official results came to the situation totally changed and PTI lost with very big margin. Later High Court dismiss and called re Election in NA 131 but Khwaja Saad took stay order from Supreme Court and remain part of the National Assembly.
As we see that Khwaja Saad is not comfortable and unhappy with the new constituency and PTI chairman itself contesting election from there so we are seeing neck to neck contest but somehow PTI has an edge from this constituency this time. On the other hand, Khwaja Saad Rafique is also the strong candidate who is one of the senior members of PML-N. Khwaja Saad Rafique is also contesting from the Provincial seat as well because he has some idea that this time Election will be not that easy as in the past General Electionsit was.
Khwaja Saad Rafique has done various mega projects in this constituency. But typically in NA 131 constituency majority of people belong from Upper middle class and elite and they prefer PTI over PML-N. This area also includes other areas other than DHA phases, Walton, Calvary and other linked areas. Waleed Iqbal President of Urban Lahore PTI is leading Imran Khan’s campaign.
